Sugar Advertising to Represent the ICOM Network in New Zealand

ROLLINSVILLE, COLORADO (USA)--ICOM, a leading global network of independent advertising and marketing communications agencies, has appointed Sugar Advertising (www.sugar.ad), Auckland, to represent the network in New Zealand.

Founded in 1996, Sugar represents a mix of international and local clients, including Estee Lauder, Honda NZ, TSB Bank and organizations involved in recruitment and tourism.

A member of the Communications Agency Association of New Zealand (CAANZ) and The New Zealand Marketing Association, Sugar is the leading independent agency in New Zealand, the current Fairfax/AdMedia Indie Agency of the Year and one of the most awarded for advertising effectiveness.

CEO Jeremy Johnston said his agency is interested in joining ICOM for the “ideas, interaction and global perspective” it will provide.

ICOM Executive Director Gary Burandt said, “Sugar is an outstanding addition to our Asia/Pacific region that now includes 15 agencies in 14 countries.”

ICOM is the most balanced of the international independent advertising and marketing communications networks offering a full range of integrated marketing and media communications services. The network of 85+ member agencies in 50+ countries offers clients an alternative to the huge and increasingly similar agency groups. ICOM was founded in 1950 as the National Federation of Advertising Agencies. Today, the network has gross income of US$385 million.
