Fall Meeting Schedule

Have you heard the ICOM song?
This year’s ICOM regional meeting schedule began in Taipei, Taiwan with the Asia/Pacific members.  The meeting was a contrast of the old and the new…

The new was represented by two stimulating presentations by Chris Schaumann, Global Advertising & Digital Lead from Microsoft.

Chris Schaumann

He led the group through a fast-paced tutorial on latest in digital marketing and social media and gave the agency bosses a lot to think about.

The old was represented by a visit to the extraordinary National Palace Museum to see Chinese art treasures that date back 4000 years.
In view of depressed economies and client budget cuts the group understood there is a need to re-emphasize new business in their agencies and spent time reviewing the fundamentals of winning new accounts. Complimenting this was a discussion of agency compensation options led by regional director, George Romanyk from Creative Inhouse, Bangkok.

Both Best Ideas competitions were hotly contested.

The Management winner was ADEX from Tokyo that has developed new business within the agency that manages licensing agreements for Japanese cartoon characters for use outside Japan.
The Creative winner was Krakatua from Kuala Lumpur with a very successful campaign for Bosch & Lomb soft contact lenses.  It consisted of a mini-series of television commercials, an interactive web site and a big public blog and YouTube response. Krakatua winners
