Executive Director

What more to say about the awful world economy?  As the teenagers say in America, it sucks.

OK, it sucks.  And it probably will for quite some time.  Now what?

You can whine long and loud about how unfair it is that a few bankers in the US and Europe have screwed up your world. No one would disagree.

Former ad agency CEO and Scout volunteer dies by M. DIANE McCORMICK, The Patriot-News Friday February 06, 2009, 5:24 PM

Terry Bush, CEO of the former Hood, Light and Geise advertising agency, died Friday.

He is being remembered as "a real go-getter" for community causes and a "model of a good business citizen." He was 72.

Up until his death, Bush was active on boards serving disadvantaged children and local Boy Scouts. Bush served on the executive board of directors of the Keystone Area Council, Inc., Boy Scouts of America, for more than 30 years, including three years as president, said executive director Jack F. Carr. "He made a significant mark on the lives of many young men by his leadership on the board," Carr said.

In 2001, Bush and his firm developed the marketing plan and materials for a successful, $1 million capital campaign for the council's Hidden Valley Scout Reservation in Perry County, Carr said. Ed Norford, of Fairview Township, served with Bush on the Boy Scouts' board.

"I don't believe anybody ever asked him to help with a project that was community-oriented that he didn't grab the bull by the horns," Norford said. "He was a real go-getter and a real motivator. If you worked with him, you had to be part of the team."

Paul Gallo, a freelance designer who worked with Bush for 25 years as Hood ,Light and Geise's creative director, said the firm had a "family feel." The agency closed in 2004 after filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

Please contact ICOM if you wish to express your condolences to the family.
