Hilton rocks thanks to Golley Slater

The first Hilton hotel to open in 2010 was launched on January 28 in spectacular fashion, thanks to the hard work and imagination of Golley Slater’s PR team.

Coined as ‘the glitziest event the city (Liverpool) has seen in years’ by the city’s leading newspaper, the Liverpool Post, the event was attended by a host of television stars, football heroes plus wives and girlfriends of premiership football stars. And the world’s paparazzi flocked to see the show.

Golley Slater arranged every detail of the launch for the exclusive £55m hotel. A diamond theme was reflected throughout, from the exclusive invitations containing fake gems to the ice sculptures positioned around the hotel for the event.

International Hilton chefs were flown in from around Europe to cater for the 450 guests, who also enjoyed the mojito ice bar, various Piper Heidsieck-sponsored champagne bars and signature cocktails in destination bar Pima.

VIPs, including Hilton’s Area President for Europe and owners of the hotel, The Ability Group, were entertained by a fashion show courtesy of WAG (wives and girlfriends) famed boutique Cricket, which showcased the spring/summer designs from labels including Lanvin, Stella and Roberto Cavalli. This was followed by an exclusive seven-track performance by international girl band Sugababes.

Golley Slater’s Agatha Chapman-Poole, who headed up the launch team, said: “This has been a truly amazing event and worth the considerable effort and work that went into the organization. We wanted to make a really big splash for the first Hilton launch of 2010, and we did. Resulting coverage has been widespread and we are really pleased with the results”.

The launch was the latest activity delivered for the hotel chain by Golley Slater, which has been working with Hilton since February 2009.
