Golley Slater was one of only three UK agencies to be awarded a Gold film award at this year’s Cannes Lions International Advertising Awards for its work on a life-saving off duty road safety campaign for the British Army.

With military personnel twice as likely to die in fatal road traffic accidents as civilians, the Central Office of Information, which provides publicity services to UK Government departments, commissioned the agency to highlight awareness of road traffic accidents involving British troops.

The campaign has been successful in dramatically reducing road accident deaths from 50 to 18 over a 2 year period.

Chris Lovell, Chief Executive of Golley Slater, said international creative industry awards this year but winning a Gold at Cannes – and beating competition from over 3,000 entries worldwide - is the highest creative accolade we could ever hope to achieve.
