USO/WILLIAMS WHITTLE AWARDED MARKETER OF THE YEAR
CAMPAIGN WINS TOP AWARD AT DC AMERICAN MARKETING ASSOCIATION’S M AWARDS
ARLINGTON, Va. Top Honors at the M Awards this year went to Williams Whittle and the USO for their 2008 PSA Campaign. In addition to winning in two categories, Integrated Marketing Campaign/Nonprofit and Public Relations/Nonprofit, the team won the overall award for the show, Marketer of the Year.
The award honored the campaign that was the number one PSA in the country, as ranked by the number of airings among the 2,140 PSAs that ran nationwide during 2008, according to Nielsen. More than $70 million in media value was earned in the campaign that spanned television, radio, newspaper, magazine, outdoor and airport media.
The honors were a repeat of the previous year’s M Awards when the team won in the same categories and was also named Marketer of the Year for 2007.
“Our team feels particularly honored to work on this ongoing campaign,” said Rob Whittle, president and CEO of Williams Whittle. “We are able harness the power of marketing to make a tangible difference in the lives of our troops who sacrifice so much for us.”
“…”, said Sloan Gibson, president and CEO of the USO.
