Williams Whittle - Alexandria, Virginia
Williams Whittle Wins
Saint Charles MD Marketing Account
Alexandria, VA Williams Whittle, a 43-year old advertising agency headquartered in Alexandria, was named Agency of Record for Saint Charles, MD, a 9100 acre planned community in Charles County. Federal Capital Partners (FCP) acquired Saint Charles' developer, ACPT, at the end of last year.
Saint Charles has been a “new town” since 1968 and is about halfway completed with over 40,000 current residents. FCP's plan calls for dedicating the remaining 4000 acres, which encompasses 11,000 housing units and 5 million square feet of commercial space, for development into a model green city according to high environmental standards.
Saint Charles CEO and FCP Managing Director Alan Shearer hired Williams Whittle to help raise the profile of Saint Charles to the public beyond Charles County. “Our single family new homes and our apartment offerings represent great home buying and rental opportunities, respectively”, commented Shearer. “We're counting on Williams Whittle to develop a brand message that communicates that Saint Charles is an ideal place for families. It's more than a new home or rental community. It's a town.”
According to agency President and CEO Rob Whittle, “Saint Charles has been out of the limelight for a long time that lots of consumers aren't aware of its existence. We intend to reawaken them to the charms and opportunities of living at Saint Charles.”
Williams Whittle is launching a lifestyle-oriented ad campaign featuring the tagline, “A Place Whose Time Has Come”. Print, online and outdoor media are being used.

Williams Whittle Starts Work
with American Red Cross
Williams Whittle announces that it has been retained by the American Red Cross to expand their public service announcement (PSA) campaign outreach in 2010. They will deploy their award-winning, multi-pronged approach to PSA promotion. The agency has spent the past eight years developing its media contacts in markets throughout the US.
Rob Whittle, president and CEO of Williams Whittle, asserts that the agency's strategy of re-positioning an established brand in the eyes of the media will pay off with increased exposure for its new client. “Our CRM methods make a tremendous difference in getting placement,” said Whittle. “But what ultimately makes the program successful is the organization behind the message and the worthiness of the cause. The American Red Cross already has the heart of the American people. We are only there to help them keep their message in front of the public.”
Williams Whittle will consult with the American Red Cross team to strategize new ways of distributing their PSA message and compelling stations and Americans to get involved in their mission.
Andrea Koslow, Director of National Advertising at American Red Cross Headquarters in Washington, DC commented, “It's exciting to be working with Williams Whittle. Having observed their success with nonprofits over the years, their talents and expertise make a fine match with our strategic approach to public service advertising.”
