Northlich Plays Integral Role in 2009 Pelotonia Bike Tour for Cancer Research

Northlich was instrumental in providing advertising, marketing and public relations support at this year’s Pelotonia Bike Tour for Cancer Research.

Pelotonia is a grass roots bike tour with one goal: to end cancer. Pelotonia raises money for innovative and life saving cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center- James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute, a Northlich client.

The Northlich team played an integral role in coordinating this year’s Pelotonia race by increasing awareness through an ad buy with Central Ohio’s largest media group, The Dispatch Group. Northlich also secured an editorial partnership with them, garnering numerous media coverage about the 2009 event in local outlets. Northlich helped drive awareness and encouraged participants to register for the race through web banners, ads in the airport and large wallscapes around Central Ohio.

As a result of Northlich efforts and the passion of cyclists, volunteers, family and friends, 2,265 riders, including seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong, completed rides of 25, 50, 100 or 180 miles, all to raise up to $4.5 million for cancer research.

Mark Willis, VP and General Manager at Northlich said, “We were honored to contribute our time and talents to the Pelotonia experience. It was very rewarding to be involved in such a great cause that helps the OSUCCC- James in saving lives.”
